Exit 7 began with songwriter Dominick DelRosso and an acoustic guitar. He took his songs to some friends from other Scranton, Pennsylvania based bands and three albums have been the result. The recording process has been unorthodoxed to say the least. Dominick writes the songs and then arrives at the studio and everything is recorded on the spot. Each musician contributes their own personal touch to the songs. The influences range from such notable acts as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Jim Morrison, Randy Rhoads, Nikki Sixx, 311, Pearl Jam, Cat Stevens, & Harry Chapin to lesser known bands such as Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers.
Exit 7’s first studio album released in 2005 titled “On My Own” was a freshman entry into the local music scene. This album went in different directions, not settling on one style of music
2007 saw the release of the second album titled “Angel”. It was this album in which a particular genre of music was established for the songwriter Dominick DelRosso. Notable songs from the album were the title track “Angel” (an acoustic version was also recorded), “The Way It Has To Be” and “Hollywood”. Vocals on this album were recorded by the drummer Chris Langan. Again, everything was recorded on the spot.
Two albums were recorded and released in 2 years time. An amazing feat in itself. The next album would not come for another 8 yrs. Why so long? Like most indepedent musicians there are numerous reasons. Family, full time work, finances, or perhaps life in general. But a 3rd album was recorded and released in May 2014 in digital format titled “Legacy”
“Legacy” is an album rooted in strong emotions. The title track is about a son who loses his father and struggles with not having him around. “Waiting For You” and “Without You” are songs written expressing love for that special someone in life. “Don’t Forget” and “Summer of ’96” reflect back on youth while looking towards the future. “Channel Surfing” is just a goofy song about watching TV late at night. Vocals on this album were recorded by bassist Joe DelRosso
